Edward J. Abernathy

Edward J. Abernathy, 92, of Poteau passed away Sept. 19, 2023. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Milton, Okla., to Dolar Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Tolbert) Abernathy. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at First Baptist Church with Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at the funeral home.
