ROGERS -- Hannah Neal experienced several firsts on Tuesday.

The first-year Rogers softball coach earned her first career home win, and also her first career 6A-West Conference win as the Lady Mounties claimed a 6-2 win against Fayetteville.

"It feels great," Neal said. "For me as a first-year coach and my assistants, it feels great to get that first win. We're still trying to learn our pitchers, but I think our girls played pretty well."

Neal said in order for her team to continue to push the bar higher, it would have to do a better job adjusting to pitchers.

"Our conference has a lot of great pitchers," she said. "Fast, low ... and we have to be able to adjust."

Pitching is also a strength for the Lady Mounties (6-1, 1-1), and that was on display Tuesday. Left-hander Ava Johnson struck out 14 over six innings, and senior right-hander Ella Beeman closed out the game with a perfect seventh inning for the save.

Rogers, which won its sixth straight game after going 5-0 last weekend in East Texas, jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first. Kadence Janney delivered the big hit in the inning with a two-run single to right.

Fayetteville (1-3, 1-1) starter Madelyn Smythe settled down after that and allowed just three runs the rest of the way.

The Lady Mounties added two more runs in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single from Lauryn Heinle and a booming RBI double by Beeman to make it 5-0.

The Lady Bulldogs cut into the deficit in the top of the sixth inning with a pair of run-scoring doubles that were aided by a strong wind.

With one out, Allie Bowerman doubled to deep right, scoring Smythe from first base. After a strikeout, Linly Chapman added an RBI double to left to make it 6-2.

Rogers brought in Beeman to close it out in the seventh and the right-hander did just that, getting a pair of groundouts to second sandwiched around a strikeout to end the game.

"We've been practicing purposely in the wind to get ready for this," said Neal of the windy conditions. "But we got the win and that's all I can ask for."

Springdale Har-Ber 13, FS Northside 3

Anniston Reith allowed just three hits to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 6A-West win on the road.

Reith struck out 8 and walked 2 in the complete-game win.

Har-Ber (2-2, 1-0) bashed 15 hits with Brooke Beyer leading the way, going 4 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI. Zyria Palmer was 2 for 3 with a double and triple and Madison Pratt drove in 3 runs. Savannah Woods belted a pair of doubles.

Addison Foster smashed a three-run homer to account for all of Northside's runs.

Springdale 9, FS Southside 8

The Lady Bulldogs' bats came alive late, scoring nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings to edge Fort Smith Southside.

Springdale (2-2, 1-1) unloaded with 16 hits with Illeana Sauls providing most of the damage, going 4 for 4 with a home run, double and 5 RBI for the Lady Bulldogs. Victoria Hennarichs was 3 for 4, and Lauren Christy, Kaylee Harp, Jaiden Tuck and Hadley James all had two hits each.

Southside got homers from Kylie Hass and Olivia Prince, and Hass also added a double.
